Was reading this post about Ferrari and it's !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and I couldn't help but wonder what the F40 looked like without the wing. Gas Monkey threatened to do it, but in a quick google search I couldn't find any examples of it happening (thank god, please don't prove me wrong).

I actually like it, but I think if it was done this way they would have smoothed the hard edges of the backend some.

It's not bad. Its disconcerting to see because its such an iconic part of the car, but I'm trying to picture it as if this is the way it always was and its not bad. That rear shot makes no sense now, but for the most part...it works.

Actually surprisingly decent. Looks a little more sleek, I kinda like it.

Obviously if I had one I would never do it, but as a photoshop exercise, really not bad.

F50 would be a lot more difficult as the wing is actually incorporated into the belt line and everything is a lot more fluid.

I was referring to the mostly-flat top line of the fender running from above the wheel to the end of the car, and the roundness of the wheel arches. A bit like in this picture:

Although I see now that the C4 didn't have as straight a profile on the rear as I remembered. Whatever...

I imagine these images supposedly show an F40 without a wing. My brain automatically forces all viewing of an F40 to have a rear wing present.

That is so cool. I don't care if others will judge; I've decided I'm putting on a big ass wing on my mustang, either an STI type one, or a supra/gtfour type of arch, or something like that f40 one. Again I don't care if it's tasteless; I have no notion of taste so people who will be offended can eat me.

The 3/4 view isn't bad, but honestly, in profile, the wing helps continue the wedge shape, so I'm in the "keep it" camp.

I kind of like it, I have to admit. Clearly I'm not a Ferrari purist, just point me to the bonfire with a stake and I'll be on my way.
But something entirely different caught my eye.. Comparing the static shots to the road shot, there's a huge difference on ground clearance. Does it compress that much at speed or is it just a matter of someone lowering the beast?
